THE EFFECT OF HEALTH EDUCATION USING E-BOOKLET MEDIA ON PREGNANT WOMEN'S KNOWLEDGE LEVEL ABOUT TUBERCULOSIS PREVENTION
Abstract
Tuberculosis remains a global health issue, including among pregnant women. According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), 151,000 pregnant women are diagnosed with tuberculosis each year. Tuberculosis during pregnancy can increase the risk of complications for both the mother and the fetus, such as anemia, preterm birth, low birth weight, and even maternal and neonatal mortality. Pregnant women’s limited knowledge regarding tuberculosis prevention is one of the factors contributing to delayed detection and treatment of the disease. Therefore, effective health education through digital educational media, such as an E-Booklet, is necessary.
This study aims to determine the effect of health education using an E-Booklet on pregnant women’s knowledge level regarding tuberculosis prevention. This is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental approach using a one-group pre-test post-test design. The study sample consisted of 59 pregnant women selected using total sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire comprising 22 items and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test.
The results of the study show that the average knowledge score increased from 74.47 to 94.80, with an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The conclusion of this study is that health education using E-Booklet media is effective in increasing pregnant women’s knowledge about tuberculosis prevention. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference for the development of digital-based health education media.
